goodbye blogger.

Blogger has been reallllly good to me, but it was time for something new. I LOVE blogging, but I fell a bit behind, life just became a little bit crazy. As I was rethinking WHERE I wanted to go with my writing, my projects, and working on a brand I decided a new space with a fresh start is just what I needed & wanted. The freedom to use my graphic designs skills as I learn at school to make my blog my own. Bear with me as I find my way in my new place, I cannot wait to share with all of you what amazing projects I've been working on! If you'd like to keep an eye on all the things I'm doing, feel free to follow me, and leave me a link below to YOUR blog, so I can come check it out! To get this NEW party started, I'm having a giveaway at the new site, so make sure you head on over to check it out! Once you've followed my new blog -- leave me a comment on my first post, with how YOU found my blog, instagram, what message board, previous follower, Find Your Voice, and you'll be entered to win! Winner will be announced next Friday, so spread the word! Thank you for all your support here on my blog, I look forward to sharing & creating with all of you at the new site! xoxo

Find Your Voice: Blog Hop

The Find Your Voice Summer Storytelling Workshop kicked off today and to celebrate we're having a blog hop with lots of giveaways! We're going to have a blast this summer and we really hope you play along! I adore Kristin and everything she does and I am thrilled to be contributing to another one of her amazing workshops!

This workshop is about finding your storytelling voice. You are an awesome person with amazing stories, so this summer we're going to work together to find the most genuine and authentic way for you to tell those stories.

This workshop is for everyone! You definitely don't need to be a scrapbooker or paper-crafter to play along. We'll be telling stories through pictures, photographs, social media, prose, and more. The only thing you need is a willingness to become the author of your own story and the courage to step outside of your comfort zone.

As paper crafters, some of us struggle with the balance of photos, pretty paper & words-- we have a need to not only showour creativity, but getting our important thoughts & memoriesdown on paper. I LOVE to write, I really enjoy typography & combining heartfelt journaling with a page or project I'm working on can really MAKE a project. I wanted to be involved with this workshop to remind myself how important those words can be, and hopefully encourage others to do MORE writing, journaling & storytelling. I cannot wait to see the great projects I know will come from these lessons!

Today each of us are telling you just how important Find Your Voice is to us, make sure you hop along, there's even a great giveaway [find out more on Kristin's blog!] Here's all the participants today:

Hello ladies! I'm still here, trying to get caught up with work enough to start blogging regularly again! Thankfully I have the SMB ladies to keep me accountable for at least a few projects a month ;]

Today we're sharing our first venture into the digital world of scrapbooking, featuring the amazing Liz Tamanaha, who designs beautiful projects and templates under her brand, Paisless Press. I have been a longtime fan, and was SO stoked when she announced that she was designing the Midnight edition of Project Life-- had to have it in my hands asap, and very happy to have found one already! If you aren't familiar with her or her shop, please check it out at you will fall in love!

Here's what I created for this month's hop:

I totally adore her minimalist style, and wanted to use her Is It Friday Yet cards, available here. I made the focus for this layout how excited I am for summer! I feel like I have been so crazy busy, that it's something I need to take more time & enjoy! Here's some detail shots:

Next up on the hop is Ellie, I know you'll love her digital designs! there's an app for that.

Last week, on Twitter, Alt Summit linked up to Vivint, the Neighborhood with a chance to win a ticket to their conference in NY, which I'm dying to go to. I was quickly distracted as I perused their incredible blog [check it out here] and found SO many amazing posts.

I am now a follower, and even more excited about an app I found on THIS  post.

I don't know about you, but I LOVE going to garage sales. & this app is seriously life changing. Thanks to Vivint, I downloaded this amazing app & it found ALL the sales going on in my area, by address & looking for items I was looking for! Plus, it made me a route so I didn't miss any, AMAZING!

Here's the route it gave me:

There were QUITE a few around, the weather here is perfect for garage sales, but we only stopped at a few due to having to be at work. It was SO conveniebt though, & cannot wait to try it again soon! Here's my score of the trip:

Just FOUR dollars for the perfect home for all my envelopes & card bases! Already up on my desk waiting to be filled all the way up ;)

Thanks again Vivint & good luck ladies & gents on trying to win a ticket to Alt Summit, fingers crossed here ;)

Alt Summit is a blogging conference focused on the needs of design & lifestyle bloggers, helping bloggers like me or you meet in real life. For more information, check out their website!

home from Nashville.

This week, I was lucky enough to be flown to Nashville by Archiver's, for my management training! While traveling alone isn't the most fun, I really enjoyed the trip & getting to visit & learn from another store [hi #46!]

It is NO secret that it is ALL about the country music there & I loved it! From the minute I stepped off my plane to the music I happily blasted all week from my rental car, this girl fit right in!

Did I mention I was there for WORK?!
Thank you Archiver's fod a fun training store & staff, and giving me time to sightsee as well. I'd only managed to make it down to Nashville one other time & it was just a quick pit stop, & I'm glad I got more time to explore a bit.

Beautiful weather, fun co-workers && thanks to my layover buddy, Andrew, tons of recommendations for amazing food & upgraded seats ;) Here's a few highlights of the trip:

This year I was thrilled to be OFF for the festivities this weekend, since it meant I got to play with some goodies, join in on the challenges & chat! It's been incredible seeing all the inspiration on instagram & in the message boards! I finished up a few pages, which I shared in my SC gallery, HERE, but here's a few sneaks:

I apologize for the iphone pics, but I think they turned out pretty good! What are YOU working on this NSD?! Link me up, tell me about it, I'd love to check it out!

This month the Social [Media] Butterflies have teamed up with Chic Tags for a BLOGAPALOOZA-- full of inspiration, freebies & TONS of prizes along the way! Each of the Butterflies & every member of the Chic Tags Design Team will be using the Road Trip collection, which is definitely one of my favorites!

ummm.. opps.. Hi there...Jen R here, highjacking Shays blog... It seems something has gone wrong with Shay's scheduled post for our blog hop and since she is currently 1,000's of feet in the air flying to Nashville she is unable to fix it at the moment. For the time being while we wait for Shay to land, you can continue on with the hop over to the wonderful Stephanies blog here.

Hi girls, me here! Isn't Jen SO sweet?! She was my lifesaver while I was on my flight, takin care of things for me! I have an hour layover, so I want to take the time to apologize! I don't know WHAT Bloggers doing, but I hope you can see my pics now!

I made a mini to bring on a future road trip with me, & shared what I travel with. I ALWAYS carry a little canvas bag of scrap essentials when I travel! I know many of you would LOVE to do something like this, and it is absolutely perfect for road trips especially!

&& I'm giving away a $35 gift certificate to Chic Tags! Comment below & let me know what YOUR favorite Road Trip ever was :) Get an extra entry by following me on instagram @sbookinshay29 & leave another comment letting me know you did!

Head on over to Stephanie's blog, thanks for hopping along with us!

perfect timing.

I am always a busy girl, but definitely just took it to another level this week. As many of you know, I've been a little more MIA lately, but with good reason-- I am happy to announce I am now a Manager at the Mason, Ohio location of Archiver's!

As if going back to school, focusing on designing for myself and moving weren't enough to kick start my goals this year, this job came at THE perfect time for me! I am thrilled to have been given such an amazing opportunity, doing something I LOVE!

What's great is I don't have to give up myself at all-- I will still run the Social [Media] Butterflies, travel for events and share my work here! I hope any of you close enough to come visit will do so, and I'm definitely looking forward to meeting new scrappy faces on my new journey!
