oh happy day.

Last night was Reveal Night over at Studio Calico, and I was incredibly nervous, thinking I would't get my goodies because I KNEW I would be at work. Especially when the girls started posting pics of exclusive KP designed stamps, I just had to get ahold of them! Thanks to running out on my Bws lovies for a few, I got everything I wanted, and even managed to snag the set over on twopeas-- yayyyy goodies!

PLUS I got my bananafishstudio stamps in the mail today-- definitely wish I would've bought the images I was on the fence about, they're amazing, and I'll be using them to get crafty today! I've got some really cute projects in the works, and some deadlines I need to meet. And an opportunity that I realllllly am keeping my fingers crossed for, wish me luck sbookers!

Week in the Life is almost over, and I have to say it's been fun, I've been trying to squeeze in more everyday pics, but I still haven't QUITE figured out what I should DO with the pics when it's over. I don't want an album, I don't want to JUST use PL protectors, I'd like something unique. Any suggestions??

too soon to say goodbye.

Sad news is never fun. Yesterday an e-mail went out and my LSS is closing it's doors on June 30th. I worked there for two years, and still love to hang out with the Tuesday gang ad stop in and crop when I can, it's right by my house and incredibly convenient since I don't have a car. I LOVE being so close, and now I have no idea where I'll go. I have great online scrappy friends, but I'm super sad to loose the place I go to sit for hours and talk about my favorite thing on the planet, scrapbooking. Being "younger" in the scrapbooking world is at times akward, because a lot of my friends haven't had kids yet, or a reason to really get into the hobby.

I haven't had a chance to go over to the store yet, and I'm dreading it, I've seen lots of posts of everyone being sad. I know it's not closing til the end of June, but it'll definitely be a major impact in my life. Some of the workers there are my favorite crafty people, I can't imagine not popping in to say hi and see what they're working on. And who will hold a garage sale so we can all buy and sell our unused goodies??

It's so sad that LSSs don't seem to stick around, because that's ALWAYS been what I wanted to do "when I grow up." I LOVE scrapbooking, everything about it, but the people are what I will miss most. The nearest store is now over an hour away, which I realise is the case for most scrapbookers, but I grew up with one around the corner, which is how I got involved so early. The past year, I've been on a mission, to GET INVOLVED. I scrapbook daily, because I would really like to work for a scrapbook company, or at a store. It's what I love, what makes me happy. I've thought about moving munchkin and I, for different reasons, but a scrapbook store HAD to be near. Now it seems I'll have to move if I want to be able to run in and pick up a piece of cardstock....

Thanks Simply, for being open the past 15 years, and being a HUGE part of my life.

A store closing is always sad, but this one hits close to the heart, and I'll really miss it.

Is anyone else ready for A Week in the Life??  The past year I've really tried to jump on every project I can, and really expand my scrapbooking. I took on Project Life late, and since I finnnnallly went and bought myself a new printer, I feel like I will be able to catch up and go along with the rest of the year now. I LOVE it, although I feel like it's a bit of a struggle to find COLOR in the products available, as most of the journaling cards I've seen are white-- but I've played around and am really liking how I can stretch my scraps && bring some color into it!

Along with Project Life, a lot of excitement has been going around about A Week in the Life , check out details on Ali's blog here >>> http://aliedwards.com/2010/01/week-in-the-life.html Even though this year's a tad bit unusual for me, it should be fun to try and catch the craziness day by day, hour by hour. I still want to do photo a day & take pictures for my Project Life, so it'll be fun to focus on words and TONS of pictures, thankfully I have a few fun events thrown in this week, not just working!

I haven't entirely decided if it will become a mini album like December Daily or what really I will be doing with it, since it's my first year, but I think I'll wait and let the pictures and memories decide for me! Off to print up some more journaling cards and get a few basic products together for this! Are any of you doing it??

I may be addicted.

Buying my printer last night might have been the BEST decision EVER. LoL
I spent at least the first hour printing photos to finally plug into the spaces I left for Project Life [which means I'll finally be able to share my full pages :] Then I got to work printing pics for pages I'm working on, most of which I will finish up today and be sharing on the Studio Calico boards today after I take pics, check them out here-- sbookinshay29  The weather here in Ohio isn't the greatest, so the lighting for layout pics could definitely be better, but I'm excited to have some finished pages!

And now I'm just on a roll so I think I'll see what sketch challenges and things I can get into, because I'm just so in love! Definitely heading over to my LSS today to buy more cardstock, this girl is in LOVE with her journaling cards, but I'm out of white!!!! Happy scrapping this weekend!

Project Life & a Reminder :]

Happy Friday the 13th!!
I am so glad I jumped on the PL bandwagon after being unsure whether I really wanted to do it on top of my traditional scrapbook pages & photo a day. After seeing everyones Cameo goodies, and the freebies being tossed from crafter to crafter, I just couldnt resist, especially with munchkin, to jump in on the amazingness known as Project Life!

I've kept up alright, but since I started late, it has been entertaining trying to keep up with the weeks I missed, what keeps me going is two apps for my iphone-- My365, which I store my photo a day on, and Momento, which pulls all my feeds together-- facebook, twitter, instagram, foursquare, it's been realllllly helpful, especially when I want to jot down an interesting quote or memory on the go! This week I've really gotten a lot done, and I'll share a few sneaks! Here's a behind the scenes into how I go about doing Project Life:

This is how I plan my pages, I keep this little notebook in my purse, and plan when I have down time. [like waiting for munchkin to get out of school] A lot of the time, I'll go ahead and jot down my journaling as well, just so it's clear in my mind instead of having to think back!

I'm almost watching a movie or listening to music while I work  ^

& who can resist incorporating different photo types?! Instax. Instagram. Digital SLR. Point & Shoot-- they all make it into my albums, as well as journaling help from my little guy!

I'm really looking forward to buying a new printer this weekend, so I can be a printing fool! If you'd like to see more of my PL check back, I'll be updating with my take every Friday!

Don't forget, only a few more hours for my giveaway! Post a comment here to win the class kit for Celine's class over on the Studio Calico classroom! Make sure to sign up for the class, and good luck winning this amazing kit!

Also, don't forget tonights sneak night over at Studio Calico, we'll be chatting it up on the message boards at 11EST!
